The Tahoe Skate House

This last May 15th Shon Baughman opened the Doors to the Tahoe areas only indoor skate park. The Skate House opened with a layout of quarter pipes, banks, vert walls and interchangeable street feature on the pyramid and euro gap. Along with all to be had inside, Shon moved his mini ramp from his house to an unused area right outside the front door of the park for everyone to enjoy on fair weather days. Owning your own skate park might be every skaters dream but Shon says “I’m trying to enjoy the ride, but you gotta love skating to keep it going”. Shon and Eric Velanzuela were the main engineers and construction team along with friends and support from the South Lake locals pitching in. The park is located at 867 Eloise St. #C, South Lake Tahoe, open Mon- Fri 2:00pm to 9:00pm and Sat- Sun 11:00pm to 10:00pm. Give them a call (530) 542-1608 or check their site www.tahoeskatehouse.com/Tahoe_Skatehouse/Welcome.html for rates. With a full shop and a lounge upstairs with big screen and playstation and free wifi, there is plenty to do if you aren’t skating or just taking a break. So if the weather out side is weather or you are just getting the jones, stop by The Skate House and support your local skater.
